THANK YOU TO OUR CUSTOMER’S & OUR EMPLOYEE’S

As the current year draws near to a close and the next one shall begin, we wanted to take a few minutes to thank our 2019 customer’s and our employee’s for another successful year.

Every year has it’s ups and downs, and small business entrepreneurs know that better than most.

It’s always a blessing to pause and count your blessings. We have had many in 2019. We have incredible employee’s who engage in their jobs and want to be the best in the industry. We are fortunate to be a family owned business, both myself, my husband, one of our son’s and our daughter work here.

In the fast-paced culture of where competition and comparison are inevitable, we pride ourselves on quality service and outstanding customer service. Our reviews speak volumes and we pride ourselves on repeat business, customer’s and contractor’s. There is a lot of gratitude to go around!

I am forever grateful that Rocklin residents voted me Rocklin’s 2019 Women In Business Award. The article’s for Lincoln, Loomis, Rocklin and Roseville Women in Business Awards will be published by Country Media’s Placer Herald . While they did misprint our Company Name, it still is an honor and privilege for this award.

This was a huge surprise, I understand that it is a huge commitment to uphold. I am very honored and thank each and every person who took the time to vote for me. It is definitely a collaborative effort at Our Shop, I cannot assume all of the credit, nor will I. I praise everyone here.

We a grateful for our customer’s; our daily work that keeps The Shop going; repeat customer’s and new one’s alike.
Thank you for another fabulous year ~ 2019!

Cheers to 2020, may the New Year bless each and everyone of us!

Important Shower Glass Design Elements

As a rule of thumb, typically a stationary shower panel glass is ½” thick; however, if it’s door that opens and closes, it’s best to use 3/8” glass (which is standard for Frame less Showers). In some instances, ½” will be more suitable depending on how the glass adheres to an adjacent wall. It’s not about making a shower door thinner but making the panel thicker.

Custom shower door glass relies on hinges strong enough to support ½” glass. But when 3/8” glass is used for a door you will find the hinges will operate better, easier and typically last longer.  Why?  It’s because the hinge isn’t as burdened with weight to their maximum limitations.

Shower glass is tempered, given its safety value.  Tempering is done by heating the glass to a softening temperature and then quickly chilling it with cold air. The process produces a highly desirable condition of induced stress and results in additional strength.  Tempered makes the glass stronger with resistance to thermal stress and impact resistance. Tempered glass, if it breaks, will break into a million tiny little oval pieces.

If a custom shower is built properly and RIGHT from the beginning to end, it will be safer and last longer no matter how often or not the shower is used daily.

Choosing decorative accents can add appeal and flare to any shower installed.  You can pick your towel bar, if you desire one.  You choose the handle, types of hinges either square or beveled; and clips. These come in a variety of finishes, such as:  Chrome, Brushed Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Matte Black, and some others.

When renovating your existing bathroom shower or shower panel, or starting from scratch, best bet is to reach out to the professional shower door installer, such as Rocklin Glass & Mirror, Inc.  Rather than selecting hit or miss pieces on your own. You’ll have a peace of mind experience knowing your shower glass door thickness and other elements of design are not only aesthetically beautiful, but safe!

Each manufacturer for framed showers has their own specific parts. We have more shower handle accessories, photos available in our shop. Ask for Barry.

SHOWER PARTS ARE NOT UNIVERSAL
If your shower part(s) break, we recommend that you DO NOT TOSS the part(s)!  Do not throw anything away until we are able to look at the parts and determine whether they can be fixed, re-usable or must be ordered.

Replacing seals on hinged or pivoting frame-less shower glass doors, the bottom seal – aka, a door sweep or door wipe keeps the water inside when the door is closed, and wipes water into the shower when the door is open.  This plastic sweep will wear and tear over time; and will harden, brittle or discolor. When this happens a complete seal, replacement is necessary to retain sealing effectiveness.  A worn and damaged shower door seal will leak water.

Bring your existing sweep into the shop.  Or, find the dimensions necessary for a replacement sweep.  You will need to bring us the thickness; the width necessary to fit the opening and we can cut a new sweep for you.

National Small Business Week, May 5 – 11, 2019

Support Small Business ~ Stay Local

During National Small Business Week, we honor America’s entrepreneurs who take a risk on an idea, invest in their neighborhoods, and create jobs for others.  Small business owners exemplify the American spirit by developing new ways to provide goods and services to consumers.  As a Nation, we reaffirm our commitment to the free market so that American small businesses continue to thrive.

America’s 30 million small businesses are central to our economy and our communities.  Their courageous innovation makes our cities and towns vibrant places to live, work, and raise families.  Small businesses employ almost 59 million workers, more than one-third of our country’s labor force.  These companies foster environments that reward problem solving and accountability, enabling workers to develop skills and valuable hands-on experience that propel their careers.

The success of our small businesses depends on leadership and vision from all perspectives and backgrounds.  Approximately 10 million American small businesses are women-owned; 29 percent are minority-owned; and nearly 10 percent are veteran-owned.  As our Nation continues to enjoy record low unemployment, with African-American, Hispanic-American, and Asian-American unemployment all having achieved historic lows, we recognize that much of this success is due to small businesses creating two out of every three net new jobs in our booming economy.

My Administration is a strong ally and advocate of small businesses and their ability to help America reach its full economic potential.  Most small businesses are now able to deduct 20 percent from their taxable business income due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.  This historic legislation and other pro growth policies of my Administration, including the elimination of unnecessary and burdensome regulations, have enabled small business owners to reinvest their profits into their businesses.  Additionally, we are investing in infrastructure and cybersecurity to ensure America’s entrepreneurs have the tools and technologies they need to compete in a global economy.

New initiatives are making it easier for small businesses to offer healthcare coverage options that until now have been largely unaffordable.  Moreover, once approved by the Congress, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will better serve the interests of American workers and businesses, including through strong intellectual property protections that secure innovation and trade secrets.

The USMCA is the first trade agreement in our Nation’s history to include a chapter specifically focusing on small and medium sized enterprises.  All of these efforts to create a more friendly business environment have enabled business owners to pay bonuses, increase wages, and increase benefits — putting more money in the pockets of their workers.

This week, we celebrate the pioneering spirit, creativity, and determination upon which America has always been built.  This undaunted conviction drives our entrepreneurs and small business owners, whose hard work and perseverance give our Nation economic strength.  Their initiative, combined with the greatest workforce in the world, is enabling us to convert the unlimited potential of America into great wealth and prosperity.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 5 through May 11, 2019, as National Small Business Week.  I call upon all Americans to recognize the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners as they grow our Nation’s economy.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this third day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand nineteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-third.

DONALD J. TRUMP

It’s unwise to pay too much…

“But, it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that, you have enough to pay for something more.” John Ruskin

While Rocklin Glass & Mirror, Inc. may not always be the lowest bid; but, we guarantee our workmanship. We’ve been in business for thirty plus years. Barry, the Owner, stands behind his products and expertise. We are competitively priced.

Price is what you pay while value is what you get.

Fireplace or Wood Stove Glass

Fireplace glass is heat tempered glass, due to its mechanical strength.
Wood Stove glass is a ceramic glass. We sell both.

Fireplace glass, tempered glass, is used in fireplace doors. This type of glass is designed and made to withstand heat to about 400 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Tempered glass is not recommended for wood stoves; pellet stoves or coal burning stoves because the temperatures get extreme in them. However, NeoCeram ceramic glass can tolerate extreme temperatures.

Tempering not only strengths glass through a chemical or thermal process, but it also changes its breakage pattern; which causes the glass to shatter into very small pebble pieces instead of large shards, reducing the chance of injury. It is best suitable where fire will not be touching the glass, as a constant temperature of 500 plus degrees causing the glass to weaken or shatter.

We can order fireplace glass, custom made to your exact specifications to fit your fireplace doors. Tempered glass is heat treated for strength and processed which is why it must be special ordered. Typically once we place an order it takes 2-3 business days to receive it. Once we get it, we promptly call you to pick it up.

NeoCeram ceramic glass can withstand temperatures of extreme heat as high as 2000 Degrees Fahrenheit, recommended at short intervals. This allows the wood stove to heat a room at maximal efficiency. NeoCeram is the optimal choice for wood burning stoves. We carry NeoCeram ceramic glass in the shop.

Ceramic glass is sold under various names such as NeoCeram, PyroCeram and Robax. These are brand names of heat resistant ceramic glass that is suitable for wood stoves, wood pellet stoves and/or coal burning stoves. They are a transparent ceramic that withstands extreme heat.

Give us a call to help you with your fireplace, wood burning stove, pellet stove and/or coal burning stove glass needs today.
