Windows Screens
Rocklin Glass and Mirror can repair or replace any screen, any size, any color, any type, at any location. If just the screen material itself is torn or worn away, bring in the existing screen frame and we'll install new screen material to match.

If you are missing some screens on a few windows, here is a tip that can save you money. Try to find another window on your house that is the same size and for which you already have the screen. Try that screen on the window that is missing one. If it fits just perfectly, bring that existing screen to our shop and tell us to make one just like it. If you don't have any windows with screens of the same size, try to borrow one from a neighbors house and bring that one to our shop to get a replacement one made.

Unfortunately every window manufacturer has their own sizes for screens and there is no such thing as a "standard size" for a three foot window, etc. If you just can't find a similar screen, you have two choices: attempt to measure for a new screen yourself or call us to send a workman to your house to measure for screens. You can save a lot of money if you can measure yourself but unless you really know how to measure, your screens may not fit just right. Try to examine your other screens and determine how far the frame sticks into the edges, etc. If you have any doubts, its best to let the pros do the job right. The shape of the framing material can vary as shown.

We use exclusively Phiferglass fiberglass screening which is constructed of vinyl-coated fiberglass yarns. Phiferglass is strong, long lasting and is not easily damaged, which makes it virtually the "carefree screening." It is the original equipment on many windows, particularly those windows which have "half-screens," and on many storm windows. Phiferglass is also the ideal choice for large patio enclosures and for pool enclosures. The density of the weave is "18 x 16" which comes in Charcoal and Silver Gray color. The darker charcoal color is the most predominately used. Phifer also makes available a more dense weave fabric 20 x 20 which is effective at stopping the "no see-um" insects.
